The Abstract Cabinet is considered the most important work of the Russian avant-gardist El Lissitzky. In 1927, the original cabinet stood in the Provinzial Museum, today's State Museum of Lower Saxony. The fine piece of art was to be reconstructed as precisely as possible at the Sprengel Museum in Hanover. The original work embodied a significant stage in Hanover's history of museums. It was destroyed by the Nazis in 1937.

Expomondo was responsible for the conception, consultation and full implementation. The individual activities included all constructions concerning the light box with covering as well as the assembly of the mirror wall, mirror strip and showcases. We also took care of lighting technology which was required for back lighting the fabric walls. Furthermore, we created the components in black, white, gray and red according to the specified color codes. All basic construction work, such as preparing the floor and installing the walls, was executed by Expomondo's team of experts. We were also tasked with setting up the construction site area, ensuring fire protection and final cleaning.

Many high-ranking newspapers and magazines have covered the project which was a complete success.
